Cardamom is a native plant to the evergreen forests of India and is commonly used in their cuisine. But it also has made its way into Ayurvedic medicine due to its powerful properties that have been found to be useful for the treatment of mouth ulcers, mucus build up, gum and tooth infections, as well as for digestive problems, congestion, and even depression. Cardamom is rich in various vitamins and micronutrients, such as vitamin A, vitamin C, niacin, riboflavin, sodium, calcium, iron, phosphorus, magnesium, and zinc, to name a few.
A tincture is an alcohol based botanical extraction. That means that we use alcohol to extract the medicinal compounds of the botanicals. We only use food grade pure grain alcohol to ensure a high quality product. The medicine is then delivered in liquid form. To be classified as a tincture the liquid needs to have at least 50% alcohol in it. We use 80%.
